The Shasta daisy is considered to be the traditional perennial daisy. There is a good chance that you might see the Shasta daisy in every other garden throughout your neighborhood. Shasta daisies have changed throughout the years from your basic Shasta daisy to the more compact daisy, which grow about half the size of the traditional daisy. New varieties have been found with large double or semi-double blooms.
As you all know the Shasta daisy gives off a great display in any garden, it is great for the use in any border flowerbeds. Single flowered varieties are somewhat hardier then the double flowering variety. You should divide these plants every three to four years to prevent overcrowding. You may want to deadhead the flowers after they are finished to prevent self- seeding, if you don't want these plants to start coming up in unplanned areas of your garden.
