Eagle Lake Nurseries Gardening Tips
June 2002Phlox paniculata 'David' (Summer Phlox or Garden Phlox) Phlox paniculata 'David' (FLOCKS puh-nick-you-LAH-tuh)
The 'David' Phlox is one of the newest members of many cultivars in the garden phlox family, which has been discovered throughout the years of gardening. The 'David' phlox was discovered in a parking lot in Brandywine Conservancy, West Cheste, PA in 1987. It was found in a population of wild seedlings, which was then named after the spouse of the former director of the conservancy. Many of the cultivars range in a variety of colours such as pinks to salmon, oranges and reds, mauve-purple and to the whites. Here are some guidelines for you to know about this particular perennial: Zone 3 Sun Exposure - Full sun to part shade.Renee O'Brien Eagle Lake Nurseries Ltd. |
