Working in Sales, Marketing, and Industry Relations at Eagle Lake Nurseries, Danielle is happiest when she’s connecting people, sharing ideas, and talking about all things horticulture.
Get to know Danielle
Funny enough, plants weren’t always part of the plan. Danielle’s journey into horticulture began somewhat unexpectedly when she joined Eagle Lake over eleven years ago. What started as just a job quickly grew into a genuine passion for plants and the industry surrounding them.
Today, she’s a Red Seal Journeyperson Landscape Horticulturist who lives on an acreage with a big garden of her own. As she puts it, “How quickly life has changed!”
What Danielle loves most about horticulture is the people. She describes Eagle Lake Nurseries as a “horticultural hub,” connecting everyone from contractors and landscape architects to fellow nurseries and industry associations. Coming from outside the industry, she was struck by just how collaborative horticulture could be, even among competitors.
Naturally curious and never one to stop learning, Danielle appreciates that horticulture is constantly evolving. She’s passionate about sharing knowledge, exploring new ideas, and helping more young people discover the opportunities available in the skilled trades.
Her advice to the next generation? “Be as open as possible to change in your personal and professional path… the best things come with change.”
It’s a philosophy she knows firsthand. After all, sometimes the most rewarding paths are the ones you never planned to take.
