How to order
Ordering from Eagle Lake Nurseries takes four steps: find your plants, send us your plant list, open an account if you don’t have one yet, and place your order online.
Pickup and delivery details are below.

1. Find your plants
Start in our Plant Info Guide. Browse by category, filter by hardiness zone and features, and add the plants you need to your plant list.
Questions? Looking for recommendations? Ask us. We know these plants, and we’re happy to share what we know!
2. Send us your plant list (or call us)
Add plants to your plant list and email us, or log in to our availability and ordering portal. You can also call our sales team at (403) 934-3670.
Your plant list is a planning tool, not an online order, so someone from our team will follow up to check availability with you and work out the details: sizes, timing, substitutions, and pickup or delivery.
3. Set up your account
An account lets you see current inventory, availability and your pricing, and order online any time.
It’s free, and there’s one for everyone: wholesale accounts for businesses and organizations, retail accounts for homeowners.
Setup can take up to 72 hours. Once you’re set up, you’ll get a welcome email from Growpoint, our online ordering tool, with your login.
4. Place your order, online or with our team
Order online through your account, or call our sales team and we’ll start the order with you.
Choose from pickup at our farm just outside of Strathmore or delivery to your site (we need at least 48 hours’ notice for deliveries), and we’ll confirm the details.
We aim to confirm orders the same day they come in. In the spring rush it can take a little longer, so the earlier you reach out, the better. If anything changes on our end, we’ll let you know as soon as we know.
Questions about ordering, pickup and delivery
Who will I be talking to?
Real people who know plants. Our sales team works with every kind of customer, and we’re looking forward to meeting you!
Start with our main line at (403) 934-3670 and we’ll connect you.
Picking up at the farm
We’ll be glad to see you. Pickups are at our farm at 240039 Range Rd 245, (just a few minutes outside of Strathmore), weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm.
- Please book ahead with at least 3 business days’ notice.
- When you arrive, come to the office first for your paperwork and instructions.
- Our crew will help you load, secure and tarp your plants.
- Please bring your own tarp or covering for the drive home; we don’t supply tarps, straps or other transport gear.
Deliveries
We deliver across Calgary and the surrounding area, including Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks and Strathmore, and we’re happy to quote delivery anywhere else.
Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice. From May to September our schedule fills up fast, so the earlier you book, the better.
Our shipping team plans every delivery, and if anything changes, we’ll let you know as soon as we know.
Please have someone on site to help unload. If there isn’t adequate unloading support, our drivers may not be able to unload your order.
Costs and fees
Deliveries are billed by the hour, from the time the truck leaves our nursery until it’s back. For Calgary and the surrounding area:
- 24-foot van: $145 per hour
- Crane truck and Semi: $195 per hour
The hourly charge includes one hour of unloading. Delivery to other locations is quoted. Out-of-town orders shipped on pallets are $30 per pallet, and an appropriate surcharge is added to freight orders. Ask us for a delivery quote any time.
Our vehicles and equipment
- Potted stock usually travels in our enclosed 24-foot van with a power tailgate, which can also carry metal perennial carts.
- Van deliveries in the Calgary area are generally floor-stacked, so plan for help unloading on site.
- Orders with caliper trees go on one of our crane trucks, which have about a 30-foot reach and carry roughly 15 to 25 balled-and-burlapped caliper trees.
- We try to send everything on one truck whenever we can.
If a plant isn't available
Sometimes a plant on your order isn’t available when our crew goes to pick it. When that happens, we’ll get in touch and work with you on a substitute that suits your site, matched for colour, size and exposure.
The more notice you give us, the more time we have to find the right fit.
Payment and credit terms
All new accounts are COD. We accept cash, debit, Mastercard, Visa or certified cheque.
Wholesale account holders can apply for credit terms once their account is set up, subject to approval. Just ask our sales team for a credit application.
