The latest edition of the Eagle Lake Nurseries Plant Information Guide is now available.
The 2026 edition runs to 200 pages and covers more than 800 trees, shrubs, vines and climbers, grasses and perennials grown or supplied by Eagle Lake. It has been rebuilt with new content throughout, including updated descriptions and characteristics for each plant, charts for traits such as drought tolerance, native status and pollinator value, and an overview of each plant group and how it fits into prairie landscapes.
The guide is designed to be used, not shelved. It is printed on heavy, weather-resistant stock with tabbed sections so it can live in the truck, on the job site or on the desk.
The appendix includes a plant index, pollination charts, a glossary, a hardiness zone map, a soil guide, production strategies for Southern Alberta, a native-or-naturalized reference, trees and shrubs for special purposes, caliper tree root ball sizes, container plant sizes and a map of the farm.
Eagle Lake has printed plant catalogues and reference material since 1972. The format has changed over the decades, from printed lists to full-colour catalogues to this guide, but the purpose has not: practical, reliable, locally relevant information about plants for prairie landscapes.
