Desdemona Ligularia
Ligularia dentata ‘Desdemona’
Desdemona Ligularia is a bold, eye-catching perennial celebrated for its large, rounded bronze-purple foliage and vivid orange, daisy-like flowers.
About Desdemona Ligularia and growing it in Alberta
Ideal for moist, shaded to partially shaded gardens, it adds dramatic tropical flair to woodland settings, borders, and near water features. Blooming in late summer, it attracts pollinators while providing striking contrast with its lush leaves. Preferring rich, consistently moist soils, it benefits from afternoon shade in hot climates and may wilt in strong sun or dry conditions.
