Fountain Grass
Pennisetum alopecuroides
Fountain Grass is a graceful, clumping grass admired for its arching form and bottlebrush-like flower spikes that add texture and movement.
About Fountain Grass and growing it in Alberta
Combining the resilience of warm-season grasses with ornamental charm, it thrives in gardens, parks, and urban landscapes. Its adaptability to a range of soils, drought tolerance, and uncomplicated needs make it a favorite for sustainable plantings. Fountain Grass brings late-season interest and habitat benefits but can be vulnerable to winter dieback in colder climates.
