Globe Thistle
Echinops ritro
Globe Thistle is a striking perennial featuring steel-blue, spiny, spherical flower heads atop gray-green, deeply cut foliage.
About Globe Thistle and growing it in Alberta
Thriving in full sun with well-drained soils, it is drought tolerant, deer resilient, and is naturally low-care. Perfect for perennial borders, xeriscapes, and pollinator gardens, its bold form adds architectural interest and long-lasting colour. May be susceptible to powdery mildew in humid environments.
