Prunus tomentosa
Nanking Cherry is known for its early spring display of white to pale pink flowers and its small, edible cherries that ripen in mid-summer.
Thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to a variety of soil conditions. Perfect for hedges, borders, or as an ornamental fruiting shrub, attracting both pollinators and birds. It is relatively easy-to-care-for but may require occasional pruning to maintain shape and remove any dead wood. The fruit, although tart, can be used for preserves.
