Purple Rockcress
Aubrieta deltoidea ‘Royal Violet’
Purple Rockcress is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial celebrated for its dense habit and striking early spring display of violet-purple flowers.
About Purple Rockcress and growing it in Alberta
Thriving in sunny, well-drained sites, it is perfect for rock gardens, slopes, retaining walls, and border edges where it spills gracefully. Its dense foliage suppresses weeds, providing low-maintenance groundcover, though caution is needed in poorly drained soils to prevent crown rot, ensuring long-lasting colour and texture in the landscape.
