The Governor Russell Lupin
Lupinus ‘The Governor’
The Governor Russell Lupin is a stately perennial celebrated for its tall, symmetrical spikes of striking blue and white bicolour flowers that bloom in late spring.
About The Governor Russell Lupin and growing it in Alberta
Its elegant form adds dramatic visual impact to borders, cottage gardens, and meadow-style plantings, while supporting pollinators and enriching soil through nitrogen fixation. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soils, it combines ornamental beauty with ecological function, though occasional monitoring for mildew or aphids is advised in hot, humid, or crowded conditions.
